Our involvement in this sector goes back many years. Traditionally silicones have been applied to glass fabrics to offer fabric reinforcement and reduce porosity. The affinity for the glass fibre ensures a degree of compatibility and enables flexible lightweight coated fabrics. More recently products have been developed for organic fibres by improving adhesion to nylon/polyester to support the automotive airbag market.

We approached Silicone Solutions after having thermal expansion issues with our existing potting compound. We were in pre-production with significant backorders of over 10000 units. Time was of the essence and Andy Briars, Silicone Solutions Technical Manager recognised this straight away. He immediately attended site within 24 hours to discuss the issues with our engineers and samples were provided quickly along with onsite testing support. We have now switched over to a silicone based compound and we are all really grateful to Andy and his team for getting this product back on track and in production. Thank you very much!
